Activity Workwear are a retail outlet who provide work clothing and footwear, who have a retail store in New Malden and they were looking for a website which could sell their range of customisable and non-customisable work clothing. They already had a website with no e- commerce functionality, which was felt to be very out of date.

We met with the team at Activity Workwear to discuss each of their requirements in more detail, to get a real understanding of their requirements and then we researched similar businesses both locally and nationally to understand what services they offered and how they presented these services to the market.
We decided that the most appropriate platform for the website would be WordPress, as it offers a flexible and simple to use CMS, with WooCommerce as the e-commerce element, as this provides a comprehensive list of functionality for sellers, including stock management, order tracking and invoicing.
We then worked up designs for some of the key landing pages of the website, such as Home, Product Categories, Product landing page.
The T-shirt builder element of the project was key to the success of the website and was required to function simply for the user, but contained a large amount of variable information and therefore, this functionality was developed as a custom application, which was then tied into the e-commerce platform.
Interactive T-Shirt Builder
This was a complex piece of bespoke development, which needed to work seamlessly with the WordPress and WooCommerce platforms to produce accurate sales orders, whilst also providing a user friendly interface.
With nearly 200 individual garment types and many of these having 200-300 variations of size and colour; and customisations which varied depending on format, position, size and colour, the technical side of the application was required to pull together lots of varying pieces of information in order to provide a visual representation of the final customised garment as well as a running total of costs to the customer, whilst pulling together the relevant information from various databases and tables in the back-end in order to provide a detailed order to the sales guys at Activity Workwear. It certainly got our brain cells working overtime
The client is delighted with the new Activity Workwear website, it’s helped them get in front of new audiences and promote their business on a national level. Next up we will be working on digital marketing campaigns to increase the conversion rate and level of orders generated through the site.
