New Website Launched For Preowned Cycles

Over the past few weeks we have designed and built a new website for Ipswich based, Jeremy Hammersely. He is an avid cyclist who was fed up of visiting lots of different websites if he wanted to sell an item, swap an item or chat with other cyclists in a forum. So he decided he wanted his own website! Along came PreownedCycles.co.uk

There are 3 main sections on the website. A classified ads section where users can view items for sale and place their own adverts. There's a swaps section where users can place adverts for things they want …

Business Cards 2.0

As we continue to grow our team of creatives, we thought it about time to give our own business cards a redesign. We've let Andrew Emms, our in-house brand designer, work his magic on our mini calling cards and the results have been a knock-out. Whilst we await delivery of our "Luxe" quality cards, why not take a sneak peak below.

We've recently added logo and brand design to our ever expanding list of services which we offer from our in-house team based in Southwold. Why not treat your business' branding to a spring-clean, ready …

We love a good API mash-up and so for the latest update to our CaffeineCommerce online shopping platform, we've integrated with OpenStreetMaps to provide a visual representation of address related data.

What does this mean for users of CaffeineCommerce?

By "geocoding" each and every address, it allows us to present users with vibrant graphical interfaces ranging from maps with markers, to heatmaps of sales across the UK, Europe and beyond. Customers and administrators alike to achieve a much richer experience when using the site, leading to lower bounce rates and higher conversions.

The Power Of Social Networking

We love using social networking websites such as Twitter and Facebook, they are a fantastic tool for engaging with family, friends, colleagues and other professionals quickly and easily.

When we talk to clients about using Twitter and Facebook we often hear that they are too busy to use them or are not 100% sure how they work, some are even a little reluctant to use them. My advice on that is to make time.Twitter especially has been very successful for us and a number of our clients. We have won numerous projects through Twitter, we talk to some …

Logo And Web Design For New Start-Up Businesses

We are offering a promotion to small businesses and start-up companies that is available until the end of April.

What's this all about then?

The other day we had a gentlemen come into our office after seeing the sign on our door and he asked us roughly what it would cost to have a website designed and built. Normally, we would like to understand exactly what the business does and get a good understanding of what the client is hoping to achieve before putting together a detailed proposal. This was overkill for what this client wanted, so I …

Lunchtime Electronics Club - My Arduino

Being the nerd that I am, I was ecstatic to unwrap my Starter Kit for Arduino (available from Sparkfun) this Christmas. Many of you will know that I spent the end of 2011 building a Nanode which is essentially an Arduino with lots of added goodies onboard. Up until now I've had very little knowledge of electronics and how to program a microcontroller (it's C by the way) but having spent this lunchtime building and programming a mini circuit that blinks LEDs alternately, I'm feeling very confident and excited.

I have lots of ideas for neat gadgets to build that …

2011 - The Best Year Of My Life So Far

Wow. 2011 was a fantastic year.

Ever since I was at school I've always had the ambition to be my own boss and start a company, at the time I didn't know what the company would do, or how it would make money, but I just knew I wanted to do it.

It was in November 2010 when myself and Matt started discussing the possibility of starting a creative web agency. We had some fantastic ideas that we could only put into practice if we went at it ourselves, this realisation pretty much made our minds up …

Their current Magento website had served them well over the past few years, but as their business continued to grow and their branding evolved it became clear that they were ready to take the next step with their online shop.

The Magic Of Strtotime() In Php

After discovering an amazing little trick using strtotime() in PHP yesterday, I thought I’d share it with you all.

The Scenario

Whilst adding some new analytical graphs to the dashboard of our CaffeineCommerce software, I needed to ask Google’s API for the total monthly visits between month X and month Y (e.g. 2010-11-01 and 2011-04-30, the last 6 months). So, essentially I need to generate a timestamp for the last day of last month and for the first day of 6 months ago.

How to begin?

At first, it seemed that mktime() might …
